Softball Recap: Grapevine Now 13-1 over Last 14 Games

Grapevine extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Hallsville. They won by a run and slipped past the Bobcats 2-1. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.

Bella MacMahon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bella Vaquera was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gisele Rayngay, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Grapevine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Hallsville, they moved to 35-5-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Grapevine will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
