Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gray Stone Day walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Hayesville Yellowjackets on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Gray Stone Day, who have now won 12 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Hayesville from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Matthew Burleson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Gray Stone Day's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those five contests. As for Hayesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season.
