Baseball Recap: Seminole Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lyman last Tuesday, Seminole came back down to earth. The Seminole Seminoles fell just short of the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Seminole got a good showing from Alex Maldonado, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Maldonado a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for New Smyrna Beach, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Seminole will host Lyman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seminole is facing Lyman at the right time seeing as Lyman is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for New Smyrna Beach, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Taylor at 6:00 p.m. The last three games New Smyrna Beach has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
