Hermleigh had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jonesboro Eagles on Wednesday, sneaking past  10-8. The  win was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on four straight.
 Peyton Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and six unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dejah Richardson, who  went 2-for-5 with four  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. She is  on a roll when it comes to  triples, as she's  now  hit  at least one in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Hallie Ellerbe, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  runs.
Hermleigh's victory bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Jonesboro,  with the  defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.
Hermleigh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
