Basketball Recap: Everton Takes a Loss

Everton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a blow against the Chadwick Cardinals, falling 70-27. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 591st, while the Cardinals are ranked 96th).

Everton's loss came despite strong showings from Joshua Daniels and Cameron Sanders. Daniels posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Sanders scored five points. That was a full 48.1% of Everton's points, marking the 16th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Everton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Chadwick, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

When Everton and Chadwick next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Everton will face off against Halfway and their four-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Chadwick will try to stop Galena's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
