Volleyball Recap: The Hawbridge School Starts Season with Loss at Home

The Hawbridge School unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Burlington Christian Academy Royals on Tuesday, falling 3-0. If the Herons were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Royals when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Burlington Christian Academy was led to victory by Kirsten Ellington and Anna Wilson. Ellington had four aces and three digs, while Wilson had four digs and four aces.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Hawbridge School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Excelsior Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on September 10. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Vandalia Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
