Baseball Recap: Centennial Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Centennial had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Gadsden on Thursday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Panthers. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Aidan Renteria looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Isreal Molina was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Cole Alons was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gadsden only posted an OBP of .364.

Centennial pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gadsden, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Centennial beat the Panthers by a score of 16-6 later that day.
