Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. Santa Fe Christian Eagles

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will take on the Santa Fe Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Mt. Carmel ended up a good deal behind Helix and lost 51-35. The contest marked the Sundevils' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Christian strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 77-55 margin over Christian.

Santa Fe Christian's win came from a few key players Mt. Carmel will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dax Hall, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and ten assists. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 assists per game. Another player making a difference was Chase Othick, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 23 points and six boards.

Santa Fe Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Santa Fe Christian, their record now sits at 7-0.

Mt. Carmel was dealt a bruising 80-46 defeat at the hands of Santa Fe Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2024.
