They came out on top against Hartfield Academy by a score of 67-54. That's another feather in the cap for Jackson Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jackson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Goodloe out in front who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Mike Williams, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hartfield Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-6.
Jackson Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jackson Prep at 7:45 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Jackson Prep is ranked 15th, while Jackson Academy is ranked 11th). As for Hartfield Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Presbyterian Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Presbyterian Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 contests -- so hopefully Hartfield Academy likes a good challenge.
