Basketball Recap: Rockwood Takes a Loss

Rockwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 76-42 defeat at the hands of Forbes Road. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 759th, while Forbes Road are ranked 372nd).

When it comes to explaining why Rockwood lost, don't look at Alexandru Manescu. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Manescu a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zander Ritenour, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Rockwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Forbes Road, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-4.

Looking ahead, Rockwood will be playing at home against Fannett Metal at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forbes Road, they will venture away from home to face off against Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
