It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ocean Springs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Petal Panthers by a score of 11-6. For Ocean Springs, this counts as revenge for the 14-3 defeat Petal walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Brooklyn Peterson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Peterson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Farrah James was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. Caitlyn Ludwig was another key contributor, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and a double.

Ocean Springs is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9-1 record this season. As for Petal, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-11.
