Basketball Preview: North Central Eagles vs. Montpelier Locomotives
The North Central Eagles will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Montpelier Locomotives at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
North Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell 48-41 to Edon.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gage Kidston, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cohen Meyers, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Montpelier suffered a tough 65-41 loss at the hands of the Archers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Montpelier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the Archers are ranked 173rd).
North Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Montpelier, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
North Central ended up a good deal behind the Locomotives in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 63-48. Will North Central have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
