Basketball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 60-35 to the Buhler Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-29 back in January.

Buhler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gracie Oard, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That's the most steals Oard has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Natalya Krafels, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-18-1. As for Buhler, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Winfield has already played their next game, a 43-29 defeat against McPherson on the 27th. As for Buhler, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-45 loss against Augusta on the 27th.
