Baseball Recap: West Canada Valley Comes Up Short

West Canada Valley managed to slip by Waterville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Nighthawks lost 12-6 to the Indians on Wednesday. The Nighthawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Brady Zaino was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for West Canada Valley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. David Valasek was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

West Canada Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Waterville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Coming up, West Canada Valley will venture away from home to square off against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Waterville, they will host New York Mills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
