Soccer Game Preview: St. Charles East vs. Guilford

The St. Charles East Fighting Saints will challenge the Guilford Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Charles East is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.

St. Charles East's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Saxony Lutheran with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering St. Charles East have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Saxony Lutheran from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Sophia Wollenberg led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Guilford's game on Monday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Woodstock North by a score of 2-1. Guilford's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

St. Charles East's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
