Softball Recap: Airport Extends Winning Streak to Three

Airport extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 15-4 in the process. They came out on top against the Flat Rock Rams by a score of 10-7. With that win, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Olivia Tilley was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Peyton Zajac was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Airport kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

As for Flat Rock, they dropped their record down to 12-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

On Flat Rock's side, Sarah Giroux was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Kopp, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Airport will welcome Milan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Flat Rock, they will host Eaton Rapids at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
