Volleyball Recap: Mountain Vista's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Mountain Vista dropped down to 16-7 on Saturday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cherry Creek Bruins by a score of 3-2. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bruins earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Rileigh Dixon paced Mountain Vista's offense, picking up 19 kills. Dixon got some help from Kennedy Schmidt and her 15 assists. Finally, Brynley Warta kept Mountain Vista's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

As for Cherry Creek, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 29th.

Leading Cherry Creek to victory were Avery Clymer and Riley Harfman. Clymer had 26 digs and six assists, while Harfman had 19 assists and four digs. Those six assists gave Clymer a new career-high. Aubrey Blake also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

As of now, neither Mountain Vista nor Cherry Creek have any future games scheduled.
