Basketball Recap: Sebastien Rodriguez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mater Brickell Academy over Immaculata-La Salle

Mater Brickell Academy entered their contest against Immaculata-La Salle on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulls took a 73-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royal Lions. The Bulls were not able to make up for their defeat to the Royal Lions from their previous meeting back in January.

Mater Brickell Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastien Rodriguez, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 25 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Emanuel Caraballo was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Mater Brickell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Immaculata-La Salle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Mater Brickell Academy is taking a road trip to take on Pinecrest Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulls will be up against the Crocs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they will welcome Ransom Everglades at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Royal Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
