Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Rams vs. Greenwood Eagles
Hillcrest had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 13-14 to make it five. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwood Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Rams' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Hillcrest saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Jarolimek, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another was Hayden Thurston, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for Greenwood, the victory got them back to even at 13-13. Surprisingly, this marked their third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
On Greenwood's side, Luke Godwin was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The Eagles are 2-1 when Godwin posts two or more runs, but 11-12 otherwise. Landen Still was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Hillcrest nor Greenwood have any future games scheduled.
