Basketball Recap: East Central Comes Up Short

East Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the San Marcos Rattlers and fell 62-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-36 on January 3rd.

It was another big night for Azariah Fennell, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds for San Marcos. The game was Fennell's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ezra Tobias, who posted nine points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for San Marcos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

East Central is taking a road trip to square off against Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Marcos, they will welcome Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Marcos is on a ten-game streak of home wins, Judson a ten-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
