Baseball Game Preview: Naples Golden Eagles vs. Palmetto Ridge Bears

The Naples Golden Eagles will square off against the Palmetto Ridge Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Naples is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since April 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Evangelical Christian by a score of 5-3. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Naples got a good showing from AMANU GILLIAM, who didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Naples saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JP MARTIN, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Palmetto Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Gulf Coast on Friday and fell 3-2. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Palmetto Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Naples, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Naples took their victory against Palmetto Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. Does Naples have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palmetto Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
