            Softball Recap: Pocono Mountain East Cardinals vs. Pleasant Valley Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Pocono Mountain East had lost three straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-5 to make it four. They lost  11-4 to the Pleasant Valley Bears. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won  3-2.
As for Pleasant Valley,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-6. Considering they have won nine games by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Pleasant Valley's part,  Kailyn Getz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. Getz also set a new season-high mark in  hits with four.
 On the hitting side, Pleasant Valley got a  massive  performance out of  Jovie Valenzuela, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  doubles. That's the most  doubles  Valenzuela has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Allison Borger, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pocono Mountain East will  square off against  rival East Stroudsburg South  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Pocono Mountain West  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
