Basketball Recap: Struthers Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Range, Struthers was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Hubbard Eagles by a score of 55-47. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 58-44 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Hubbard lost, don't look at Braydon Songer. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 18 en route to 26 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Hayes, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Struthers' win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Hubbard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Struthers will head out to challenge Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hubbard and Liberty will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th.
