It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Aptos can now relate to. They fell just short of the Westmont Warriors by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Mariners' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Gwen Vaca was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Aptos' defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Westmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Aptos is taking a road trip to square off against Argonaut at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Mariners surely won't give up without a fight. Westmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
