Volleyball Recap: Alief Hastings Comes Up Short

Alief Hastings managed to slip by Almeta Crawford the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears came up short against the Chargers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Bears' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

While Alief Hastings was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Almeta Crawford's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11, 25-15.

Almeta Crawford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinn Yakopich led the charge by getting ten kills, three aces, and one block. Yakopich is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Niyah Herrera, who had seven kills, four digs, and two aces.

Alief Hastings' loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Almeta Crawford, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Coming up, Alief Hastings will be taking part in a tournament against Ball at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Almeta Crawford, they will take on Cypress Lakes in a tournament on Thursday.
