Volleyball Recap: Augusta Takes a Loss

Augusta extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-17. They came up short against the Eleva-Strum Cardinals, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Beavers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Maddi Meyer paced Augusta's offense, picking up 16 kills. Meyer got some help from Brooklyn Krueger and her 12 assists. Krueger was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

As for Eleva-Strum, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

Eleva-Strum can attribute much of their success to Gabby Franck, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Franck has posted over her last six matchups.

Augusta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cadott on the 21st. As for Eleva-Strum, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Whitehall on the 16th.
