Basketball Recap: American Takes a Loss

American was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-17 loss at the hands of the Killian Cougars.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Killian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leiyah Bain, who went 6 of 8 to rack up 14 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. Bain is also crushing it when it comes to field goal percentage: she's posted at least zero every time she's taken the court this season. Shamaraja Cummings was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

American's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Killian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

American has already played their next game, a 65-30 defeat against TERRA Environmental on the 4th. As for Killian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 59-21 win against Sunset on the 4th.
