Volleyball Game Preview: Castle Knights vs. Kaiser Cougars

The Castle Knights will head out to challenge the Kaiser Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kaiser took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Castle, who comes in off a win.

Castle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: Kalani, who was ranked 14th at the time (Castle was ranked third). The Knights came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Castle was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 21-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Kaiser lost 3-0 to Moanalua on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Menehune: they've now lost three in a row.

While Kaiser was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Moanalua's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-20.

Kaiser now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Castle, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Castle might still be hurting after the 25-14 loss they got from Kaiser in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
