Baseball Game Preview: New Castle Trojans vs. Fishers Tigers

New Castle hasn't had much luck against Fishers recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will square off against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

New Castle fell victim to Mt. Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marauders. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Fishers faced Avon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Orioles, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Fishers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zander Carnahan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Carnahan's first of the season.

New Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Fishers, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 17-4.

New Castle suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Fishers when the teams last played back in April of 2017. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
