Recap: East Tech Scarabs vs. Garrett Morgan Falcons
The East Tech Scarabs won the last time they faced the Garrett Morgan Falcons, and things went their way on Friday too. East Tech enjoyed a cozy 61-45 win over Garrett Morgan. Given East Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Garrett Morgan is ranked 561st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading East Tech to victory were Chris Simon and Amani Mitchell. Simon scored 13 points along with four steals, while Mitchell scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Keyshawn Wilson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
East Tech's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Garrett Morgan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Tech will be home for the holidays to greet Collinwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Collinwood is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Garrett Morgan will be home for the holidays to greet Campus International at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
