Baseball Game Preview: Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers vs. Masterman

The Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers will face off against Masterman at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Philadelphia Academy Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against MAST Charter II as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Jameson Basso was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lutz, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Philadelphia Academy Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Masterman's hitters rose to the challenge against an Owls pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.64 runs allowed on Thursday. Masterman blew past Thomas A. Edison 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Masterman.

Philadelphia Academy Charter's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Masterman, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1.
