Softball Recap: Carmel's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Carmel's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Harrison Raiders get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Greyhounds as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Emily Smith's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayden Kleiner, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carmel will venture away from home to challenge Greenfield-Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harrison, they will head out to take on Lafayette Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
