Conner Gaster was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Life Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other pitching news, JJ Jimenez looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Brandon Dorin was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor Radcliff, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Amelia Academy, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Kavaliers have suffered since May 9, 2024.
Kenston Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tine Sledd, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
Life Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kenston Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
