Basketball Recap: Jackson Christian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Jackson Christian lost against Pittsford back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jackson Christian Royals took a 42-23 bruising from the Pittsford Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Wildcats are ranked 130th).

When it comes to explaining why Jackson Christian lost, don't look at Rennie Huff. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and five rebounds. That was a full 52.2% of Jackson Christian's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

With the defeat, Jackson Christian broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6. As for Pittsford, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Jackson Christian will face off against North Adams-Jerome at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for North Adams-Jerome: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Jackson Christian has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Pittsford, they will welcome Camden-Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pittsford's defense has only allowed 22.9 points per game this season, so Camden-Frontier's offense will have their work cut out for them.
