John Paul II waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the St. Pius X Panthers by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: John Paul II took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15.

Chloe Gerlach paced John Paul II's offense, picking up ten kills. Gerlach got some help from Lucy Schwabauer and her 16 assists. Aubrey Easterwood controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for St. Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, John Paul II will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Brazos Christian at 9:15 a.m. As for St. Pius X, they are taking a road trip to challenge Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
