Weslaco is a perfect 7-0 against Edinburg since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Weslaco is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Weslaco's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Weslaco had a senior duo take command as David Garcia gained 40 total yards and four touchdowns and Chris Luna threw for 130 yards and two TDs.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Edinburg and Economedes meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Bobcats took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. Despite 109 more yards than the Jaguars, the Bobcats couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Weslaco will have to contain Aidden Sanchez as he made an impact in Edinburg's last game. He threw for 234 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 33 yards.

Edinburg's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Weslaco, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Weslaco skirted past Edinburg 24-21 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
