Football Recap: Sharyland Rattlers vs. Mission Eagles

If Sharyland was riding high fresh off their 35-14 takedown of Hanna last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sharyland Rattlers lost to the Mission Eagles at home by a 36-22 margin on Friday.

Despite the loss, Sharyland still got an impressive performance from Calvin Harris, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 44 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Francisco Gomez, who picked up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Sharyland wouldn't let Mission keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Ivan Ramirez was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. Sharyland will play host again on Thursday to welcome Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. As for Mission, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Vela at 7:30 p.m. Vela will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Mission surely won't give up without a fight.
