Football Recap: Leigh Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Leigh played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Santa Teresa Saints, falling 42-7. The contest marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Leigh lost, don't look at Blake Zanger. Despite the final result, he rushed for 172 yards and one score. Zanger's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Salvador Guerrero produced another solid performance throwing for 257 yards and three TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes for Santa Teresa. A healthy portion of Guerrero's aerial production (143 yards to be exact) went to Prince Collins.

This is the second loss in a row for Leigh and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-2 Christopher (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 83.3% over those games). As for Santa Teresa, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Leigh wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 35-30 loss against Lincoln on the 23rd. As for Santa Teresa, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-16 win against Christopher on the 23rd.
