Baseball Recap: Bowsher Victorious

Bowsher posted their closest victory since April 3rd on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Lima Senior Spartans. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Donovan McClellan and Landon Imhoff made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McClellan struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Imhoff pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has become a key player for Bowsher: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise. At the plate, McClellan went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Imhoff got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Sean Hartford was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win got Bowsher back to even at 7-7. As for Lima Senior, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Bowsher will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
