Forge Christian has gone a perfect 10-0 against Prospect Ridge Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Fury will be playing in front of their home fans against the Miners at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Prospect Ridge Academy will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Forge Christian extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Fury came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Denver Christian.
Burke Jasa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Forge Christian let Brock Wycoff and Asher Garner run wild. Wycoff went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Garner scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Wycoff has posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, while Prospect Ridge Academy put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Jefferson Academy. The Miners sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Jaguars. The win continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.
Liam Schilling was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Schilling was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Schilling wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zeke Bote, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Forge Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Forge Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Prospect Ridge Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Forge Christian took their win against Prospect Ridge Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Fury have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Miners turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
