Baseball Recap: Rondout Valley Takes a Loss

Rondout Valley came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Wallkill Panthers by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Ganders in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Rondout Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylen McClean, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another was Jackson Barcone, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Rondout Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wallkill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coincidentally, Rondout Valley and Wallkill will both be playing Marlboro Central the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Dukes at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Ganders will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
