Basketball Game Preview: Champlin Park Rebels vs. Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm

The Champlin Park Rebels will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Champlin Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Sauk Rapids-Rice likes a good challenge.

Champlin Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 110-104 W over Blaine on Thursday. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Bengals are ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sauk Rapids-Rice put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Rogers 89-73.

Champlin Park pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 93.3 points per game. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
