Volleyball Game Preview: Battle Creek Grizzlies vs. Lewis County Panthers

The Battle Creek Grizzlies will take on the Lewis County Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Battle Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Marshall County with a sharp 3-0 win. The Grizzlies not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Battle Creek was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-5, 25-13.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lewis County and Mt. Pleasant meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lewis County took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-14.

Lewis County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Battle Creek, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
