Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monterey Trail). They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Sonora Wildcats on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Monterey Trail let Aliyah Ewing and Dakota Bumbaca run wild. Ewing scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Bumbaca went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two runs gave Ewing a new career-high. Graciela Medrano was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Monterey Trail always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Monterey Trail's record is now 6-8. As for Sonora, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Monterey Trail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Lincoln on the 5th. As for Sonora, they have also already played their next game, an 8-3 loss against St. Mary's on the 5th.
