Cushing strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Winona Wildcats 71-69. While the Bearkats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cushing's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Winona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Cushing won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kennard at 9:20 a.m. on Friday. As for Winona, they will take on Elysian Fields at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
