A Season-Best Performance from Noah Byots Leads Carlinville over Hillsboro

Carlinville was led to victory by Noah Byots, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Byots rushed for 94 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

On the year, Byots has averaged 86.8 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 1.38 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 27.25 rushing yards.

Kile Made His Presence Known in Pana's 41-21 Win

Pana picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Wyatt Kile. Kile did his part (and then some), throwing for 366 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 36 yards and a touchdown for the 'W'.

If the past is any indication, Kile could be in store for another big game when he takes on Staunton/Bunker Hill on Friday. When Kile last faced the Bulldogs back in October of 2023, he threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 45 yards.

North Mac Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Payne Mclean

North Mac picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Payne Mclean. Nobody could stop Mclean as he threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown.

This season, Mclean has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 119.5 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 16.5 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 38.38 rushing yards.

Nate Dyer Turns in Season-Best Performance

Carlinville was led to victory by Nate Dyer, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Dyer rushed for 168 yards while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

For the season, Dyer has averaged 72.3 rushing yards per game.

Sam Sims Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Pana got the W thanks in part to Sam Sims playing the best football he has all season. Sims picked up 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Litchfield/Mt. Olive's probably not too fond of Sims given he always seems to get the better of them. When Sims last faced the back in October of 2023, he rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.
