Volleyball Game Preview: Willard Tigers vs. Carthage Tigers

Willard will square off against Carthage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Willard is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Willard fell just short of Republic by a score of 3-2.

Willard took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Carthage posted their closest win since September 2nd on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lebanon, sneaking past 3-2.

Carthage had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 28-30, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-9.

Willard's loss dropped their record down to 20-10-4. As for Carthage, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14-1.

Willard beat Carthage 2-0 in their previous meeting back in September. Will Willard repeat their success, or does Carthage has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
