Recap: North Callaway Thunderbirds vs. Elsberry Indians
The North Callaway Thunderbirds lost against the Elsberry Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. North Callaway fell 49-40 to Elsberry. North Callaway has struggled against Elsberry recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why North Callaway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isiah Craighead. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Craighead has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Brown, who scored six points along with four steals.
North Callaway has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Elsberry, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Wellsville-Middletown the next time they take the court. North Callaway will head out to face Wellsville-Middletown at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, while Elsberry will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
