Baseball Recap: Smithsburg Comes Up Short

Smithsburg lost against Clear Spring last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Leopards lost 12-6 to the Blazers. The Leopards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eli Bowman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was George Mantz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Smithsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Clear Spring, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Smithsburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-1 loss against Brunswick on the 28th. As for Clear Spring, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 victory against Hedgesville on the 28th.
