Volleyball Preview: Marblehead Magicians vs. Winthrop Vikings        
        
		
             Marblehead is 10-0 against Winthrop since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Thursday. The Marblehead Magicians will venture away from home to  square off against the Winthrop Vikings  at 5:30  p.m. Marblehead is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
 Last Monday, Marblehead didn't have quite enough to beat Woburn Memorial and fell  3-2.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Marblehead sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 17-25, 25-21, 22-25,  15-7.
 Marblehead's  loss came about despite a quality game from  Megan Parkman, who  had 18  digs.
 Meanwhile, Winthrop couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell  3-1 to Swampscott on Tuesday. With that  defeat, the Vikings now have  an 11 game overall losing streak to go with their drought on the road.
 The final score came out to 25-12, 20-25, 25-13,  25-13.
 Marblehead now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Winthrop, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
 Marblehead took their  win against Winthrop  when the teams last played  back in September of 2023 by a conclusive  3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marblehead since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
